We are turning 14! Theodore Roosevelt once said, “Keep your eyes on the stars, and your feet on the ground.” Reading this reminds me of my interview with FM93.8 ‘live’ 14 years ago, when I was asked what my aspirations were. It was to be “The Starbucks of Soups”, to be the global benchmark for soups in the way Starbucks is the global standard for coffee. We are not quite there yet, but we always aspire to do more. Roosevelt’s words ring clear that we should never lose track of who we are throughout our journey and it never fails to inspire me to reach for greater heights, to do better for our customers, and yet stay grounded. Thank you for your soupport all these years! If you have your mum’s or granny’s or any heirloom recipes to share, please feel free to drop me a note at souperchefanna@thesoupspoon.com. All good things are better shared, don’t you agree? I promise I will do my best to interpret it and do it justice. We will love to feature your family heirlooms like how we have featured some of my family recipes last month! This month we are featuring soups voted from Round 1 of the Souper Fans’ Choice Awards 2016! One of my colleagues told me,“ You must let us vote! You cannot be selfish and decide on the Souper Inspirations all the time and some of the soups never get re-featured again!” Yes, I agree! So here we are with your favourite Souper Inspirations. As I was deciding what Souper Inspirations to be put up for voting, I flipped through my old notes and took a vacation to my past. Every thought process, every inspiration behind each soup – each one special to me in its own way. It almost brought a tear to my eye. I’m like a proud parent watching these Souper Inspirations that are inspired by the world, being made in our kitchen and enjoyed by you. These are for you.
- Our first store at Raffles City in June 2002. It is 500sq ft and I could vivdly remember we had 38 seats . There was kitchen behind where we do all the food prep and cooking is done in the kettles at the front and soups are served from the kettles directly.
